Mission:
Anubis Rises
Location: USS Anubis (NCC-93310), Main Engineering
Timeline: MD02 1300 Hours
Surprisingly, much of the mess that had been Engineering was (for the most part) cleaned up from how Louise had found it the day prior; the tangle of cables hanging from the ceiling had mostly been wired up, hatches and access panels had been closed up, and though there were still a few toolkits lining the perimeter, they were placed in such a way that they were no longer a tripping hazard.
Of course, that was hardly to say that Engineering's work was far from done; they still needed to rig all of this to the experimental bio-neural Computer Core, so that all three warp cores could effectively co-ordinate with each other- a task that was certainly easier said than done, considering these pissy little things tended to become corrupted by so much as a stiff breeze, which in turn bogged down processing times- not something you really wanted when in the middle of a fire-fight with a Galor.
Right now, Kirche was attempting to diagnose as to why exactly the control interface for the cooling systems was slower than a Geriatric with ankle weights without having to drag Lieutenant Seamore down here to diagnose it, because she was a fricken' Engineer, and not some damn microbiologist. She tried to see if it was potentially a connection error, or maybe the gel packs weren't powerful enough to handle the software. She ran the program through another terminal, and it seemed to work just fine. She compared the gel packs with some examples that she knew weren't corrupted- nothing. So what the fuck was wrong with this stupid thing?
"Something wrong?" A voice asked from behind her. "You look a little stressed..."
"That would be the understatement of the century," Kirche scoffed. "But unless you can tell me the difference between a healthy gel pack and a corrupted one, I don't think you'll be of much help."
"I'm not an engineer..." the woman replied. She however crouched down next to the engineering, her deep red hair and striking green eyes complimenting her face. She had a thin figure and her cropped uniform tunic was open low enough to visibly show her chest. "I'm Ruby by the way, Ruby Kurosawa. Who would you happen to be?"
Kirche furrowed her brow. Why was she getting some vibes that this girl was hitting on her?
"Kirche Zerbst," she answered plainly. "Can I help you with something, Ruby? Because I'm on a bit of a tight schedule here."
Ruby gave her a little smirk as she looked her up and down. "You know, there's some rumours that I've heard about you Kirche..." she said. "Apparently you're an expert on giving others a... what would you call it... a good time?"
"Only so long as there's something that I stand to gain from it," Kirche shrugged as if it were a completely trivial question.
"Oh I can understand that completely." Ruby replied in a sultry tone. "After all, there are only so many ways that a woman can make their way in this universe." she replied as she ran a hand down her chest and pulled at the top of her tunic's zipper. "I guess the big question is... I think you need some time to relax a little..."
Kirche threw her head back and laughed. "Wow, somebody here thinks they're hot shit..."
She looked over at Ruby. "Word of advice, Kid? You don't know who you're talking to, so do yourself a favor and get lost."
"You want little me to get lost?" Ruby asked giving her teary puppy dog eyes. "I just want to make new 'friends' here, thats all. Plus, we both have something in common right?"
"If you're looking for someone to wank your bank, sweetheart, I'm sure there's a dozen other guys on this ship who are looking for an excuse to get wet," Kirche maintained. "I've got two days to get this ship up and running, so unless there's something you can give me that'll help me to get the work done faster, I'm not interested."
"How about this?" Ruby asked as she reached into her bosom and pulled out a small data chip. "I swiped this from some shipyard engineer the other night. Poor fool was way over his head with everything we did..." she paused. "He was worth getting hold if this, but totally not a revisit in bed." She grinned. "Apparently, according to our computer, its some top secret bio-neural circutory handbook or something..." She wafted it infront of Kirche's face. "I wonder how long he got in the booth for losing something like this!" she laughed.
Kirche twitched. This little brat... she thought she could just waltz right in here and start talking big like she owned the place? It was starting to piss her off...
Before Ruby knew what was happening, Kirche had grabbed Ruby by the arm and began leading her towards the door.
"Styles, you have the floor!" She called out. "I have to teach someone a little respect..."
Next thing Ruby remembered, she was lying face down in Kirche's bed, stripped nude, drenched in a mixture of sweat and bodily fluids, and sore from just about every possible joint in her body.
"Now, then," Kirche began. "I hope you've learned your lesson?"
Ruby let out a loud and long spurt of laughter. "My god, that was intense Kirche!" she laughed as she rolled over and sat up. She faced the Chief Engineer. "You know, I've done this with a lot of people to get what I want. But I've got to say, you taught me some new moves."
She gave her a rather sultry smile. "So, did I help? Does this mean you now owe me something?"
"More like you owe me that data chip," Kirche answered as she put out her hand. "Now pay up; a deal's a deal."
Ruby slipped down off the bed, walked over to her discarded uniform and reached into one of the inside pockets. There she pulled out the chip. She then threw it over towards Kirche. "Here. Like you said, a deal is a deal."
Kirche tucked the data chip into her pocket and stood up.
"You'd better hope you're a woman of your word," she warned as she began making her way to the door. "Because if I don't find what you promised on this chip... well, let's just say I have my ways of getting even."
"And so do I dear Chief Engineer..." Ruby said as she grabbed her clothes and thrust them under her arm. "Feel free to keep the information on the chip. I have no use for it anyways. After all, I'm a security officer." She said as she turned towards the door. Slowly she began to walk through it back towards the living room area. "If you ever need to relieve some stress again, call me." she said as she stepped through the door out of sight.
Kirche scowled. The only real stress that she'd managed to relieve was putting a little brat child her place... and now she was a full hour behind on her work... hopefully Lieutenant Nanting would whip that shitty little kid into shape...
